Interior decoration is the decoration which consists of the layout and furnishings of a livable interior. It is a hobby that many people inculcate so as to spend their spare time productively. To make a successful career out of it, you would need a credible reputation and a college degree. This is a must before you can decorate houses for other people and charge for it. But the plus point is that you need none of that to decorate and experiment with your own house. Even if there is no monetary gain, the fulfillment one gets from seeing the results of one's imagination in reality is a pleasure beyond compare.

But the plus point is that you need none of that to decorate and experiment with your own house. Even if there is no monetary gain, the fulfillment one gets from seeing the results of one's imagination in reality is a pleasure beyond compare.

Anybody can decorate their own homes, but it is important that it must have a degree of tidiness associated with it. It would too much of a muddle if we were to plan the decoration process taking in to account, the house as a whole. That would create a lot more confusion and would limit the flow of thoughts that is so vital when it comes to doing something artistic. It is, therefore advisable to plan it room by room.

The first room that comes to our minds when we think about decorating our homes is the drawing room. The drawing room is strategic because it is the first room that a casual visitor sees when he/ she comes to visit and as they have said over the ages, the first impression is, more often than not, the best impression. So it would be advisable to go with an elegant look, with not much space devoted to eccentricities.

The next room in the list is the kitchen, the work station of the house. While redecoration the kitchen, practicality should be the priority and not the artistic beauty. It is so because the kitchen is virtually the workshop of the house. Clumsy objects of artistic value would only obstruct the work going on in the kitchen and not help in any way.

Next and the most personal of spaces is the bedroom. It is while decorating the bedrooms that we can use our artistic vision to the most with ample scope for all our whims and fancies, be it purple sheets for the bed or painting above the bed.
